Summer
Summer days where have you gone?
You've left me thinking, how did it go wrong?
Super sonic dreams, why did you leave?
Left to be deserted, I can no longer breathe.
Summer nights, when did you disappear?
Can’t make it stop, destructions path is clear,
Oxymoronic dreams you have gone astray,
From the clutches of my hands, no longer they pray.
Summer dawns, you no longer shine,
Joyful, triumphant memories, no longer mine,
Shattered dreams, that’s all you are shattered,
Persona, image identity, bruised and battered.
Welcome to the village of sleepless victims,
Each to their own, living life on a whim,
Shadows casting backwards, no soul left within,
The black sheep of the family, the odd one of the kin.
Welcome to the hamlet of faceless faces,
All ashamed of their ego’s, all of them a waste,
Sheltered in their lightless corridors,
They have lost their pride, no longer great warriors.
This is the town of the dispirited leader,
Once king of the food chain, now a lowly feeder,
Contemplating their once passionate demeanours
Now they can’t bare themselves nor their lacklusture misdemeanours.
Welcome to the mind of the lifeless ordinary,
Summer nights here are nothing but ordinary.
Calculating the falls of all modern heroes,
I am nothing more than wrapped in my needless ego.
