One year on, but just as restless as before
A lot of effort from everyone, but still we need to do more
Only the surface scratched, but nowhere near the core
As the pain remains, tears running to the floor
Still so much bloodshed, children suffering all over the globe
Trying to escape from reality, but there is no place to go
When requested for help. We still say “NO!”

Hope is gone, now left with despair
Desperate for our assistance, as this life isn’t fair
A child smiling at the sight of food, but even that’s so rare
So ask yourselves, how much do we care?
Do we care enough to spend in the way of those in need?
Or have we been consumed by the pound and filled with greed?
Indeed, we must think hard, as there are many mouth’s to feed.
We may say we’re unfortunate, in the time of recession
But a few contributions won’t hurt, for those in the true depression

MAC,
One of the best pieces of writing i have read for a long time. That trully got to me.
I love it!
Thank you for posting that and for making it relevant to our cause. I want to include that at our event May 2 somehow. I will see if we can utilise it in our documentary or video campaign/advert which we can screen.

Better still, would you be up for taking part in this: http://www.restlessbeings.org/pages/i_f ... ss_because

by getting on your webcam, or getting someoen to read it (if not you then anyone you want, a child in your fam if you wish, but you doing it would be best) and get get it filmed, -= phone, webcam, camcorder, or get AK to film you, whatevers best.
You up for it?
would be a shame not to use it in someway, its really really good :)

Thanks Rahima :)

Glad you like it.....even though it's not the most positive piece lol

As for doing a reading of it on video, I'll give it a try.......but did u want music in the background or anything? or just an accepella?

I wouldn't mind....as long as I dont have to go on the stage or anything :P

Hey, if you want to go on stage, event better :D

You can have music in the background or do it acapella, up to you. Do you reckon you can do it by this friday? coz we will start editing all the entries from next week. Even before this sunday is fine.

Start off with
'I feel restless because'
and then pause, and then read the rest of your poem.
You can do it on your phone, on your webcam and just send to us - AK or anyone on the team - info@restlessbeings.org (ideally)

Film it anywhere you like, in your bedroom, garden, wherever, in a normal homey environment would be good

tHANKS MAC :D :D :D
