this is just my opinion, but I think it would be more beneficial for us to, rather than looking for signs of the last day, if we lived like it was our last day and devoted our actions and thoughts to the omnipresent
A worthy point.
What we must remember is that there were signs of the day of Qayamat during the time of the Prophet, all those years ago. I believe his death is also a sign??? Or so I’ve read somewhere...
People back then thought that the last days were around the corner and there was a possibility that it may be during their lifetime, very much like some people think that it may be so now, in our lifetime.
A point to note: a few years back I heard of a group of Muslims who were relating to a hadith where there was to be 2 eclipses during the month of Ramzan, which would precede the coming of Imam Mehdi. Subsequently the hadiths were revealed to be weak in Sanad/Isnaad, and discredited. But it still didn't stop some people selling up to move to Mecca to await the Mehdi's arrival!!!
These things can never be second guessed or estimated in any way what so ever. The important thing here I guess is what Mabrur has said... live everyday as though it were your last. The Lord controls time, and he can make a day pass by in the space of an hour or drag it out over a millennia. Either way, there's no point worrying about it... when it happens, it will happen.
