Knowledge of the Day:

For those of you who may not know about the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) much.
8 goals set up in 2000 by the UN - target is 2015; we're half way there. These are targets that must be met in ALL countries in the world for the goal to have been successfully reached.

Important we're aware of the MDGs - a good number of the Goals apply to us.

“communities could help protect them.” From mental illness? In my experience if someone has mental illness in the Bengali community then they are more likely to ignore it or pretend that nothing is wrong.

It’s like to see some research regarding mental illness and hair Straighteners as I believe excesses straightening can lead to all sorts of problems, socially and behaviourally. It’s only an observation I’ve made.

Women have an unhealthy obsession with hair straighteners. Sign of the times I suppose. I can’t wait for curly hair to come back into fashion.

how is the editing coming along?

Knowledge of the Day (sorry Night rather!):

A Wall Street Journal piece which gives a nice intro and very realistic implications on globalisation. In a nutshell, explaining that globalisation, though a good thing when looked in absolute terms, is not so good when viewed in relative terms - ultimately the rich are the key benefactors of globalisation.
Please print and read.
