My latest ramblings, please feel free to comment or provide me with feedback

This is a tribute to the continent of Africa. Following the recent showboating of a rogue Zimbabwean president my feelings are such that I cannot hold my tongue. My anger is neither with the people of Zimbabwe nor the people of Africa but with the lack of intervention from the international community that hark on us daily about responsibility, democracy and justice for what is morally correct. Where were the morals when we stood aside and watched Amin drive the entire populations of South Asians out of Uganda? Where are the morals when we watch the people of a state known as Somalia bicker and argue to no end? Where are the morals when we watch a genocide in Rwanda where tutsi and hutu kill each other? Where are the morals when we find it impossible to intervene in Mugabe’s Gukurahundi regiment forced 62 men and women dig up their own grave before shooting them dead in front of their families because they supported a political party? Where are our morals when the only developed country in Africa does not have the balls to stand up to the thug that is Mugabe? Where? We can see, yet we do not intervene. And so I wrote this:

Africa

Uganda Uganda
You drove us from our home
Uganda Uganda
You let in an evil regime

Amin Amin
You are all the same
Amin Amin
You killed in your own name

Mogadishu Mogadishu
You have blood on your hands
Mogadishu Mogadishu
We watch your demise

Tutsi Tutsi
You died alongside your brothers
Tutsi Tutsi
You slaughtered your brothers

Hutu Hutu
You massacred your brothers
Hutu Hutu
You died alongside your brothers

Darfur Darfur
Relentless in hunger
Darfur Darfur
Yet you do not surrender

Zimbabwe Zimbabwe
Once we all had a vision
Zimbabwe Zimbabwe
Of being freed from the shackles

Mugabe Mugabe
We hailed your name
Mugabe Mugabe
From Mozambique you planned your gain

Gukurahundi Gukurahundi
He stole all your dreams
Gukurahundi Gukurahundi
Whilst the world ignored you

Mbeki Mbeki
You will never intervene
Mbeki Mbeki
You should ignore your own greed

Mandela Mandela
You were a prince amongst paupers
Mandela Mandela
You prove that we can hold our own victory

Africa Africa
We pray for you all
Africa Africa
Do not die in vain

Africa Africa
Be rid of your evils
Africa Africa
Be free of your captors

Africa Africa
Be not ashamed
Africa Africa
You are kings; just believe!
